MANAGER OF SEARCH
POSITION SUMMARY
The Search Manager plays an integral role in the agency’s digital department and in the agency as a whole. He/she works directly with the digital media planning/buying staff develop the SEM strategy for clients. This includes assessing potential search volume; keyword management; bid pricing and position strategies; writing search copy that is consistent with messaging from online and offline communications; providing guidance on calls-to-action; executing search campaigns through all major engines; analyzing performance of search campaigns based on key performance indicators; and ongoing optimization. He or she will also provide SEO recommendations to help client to achieve better organic placements.
This position is granted to individuals who have strong data and analytical skills. They have a deep understanding and hands-on-knowledge of SEM and SEO. They are insightful and analytical. They look at data from a big picture perspective, yet understand the importance of data detail.
Primary Role:
• Develop and execute search engine marketing and other pay-per-click programs that are consistent with the overall digital (and traditional) media strategy.
• Identity keywords and potential search volume for clients.
• Develop search and content copy that dovetails with the rest of the online and offline components of a campaign.
• Provide recommendations on landing pages/ click destinations (including landing page testing and optimization)
• Develop bid pricing and position strategies.
• Execute PPC campaigns with major search engines as well as co-registration and affiliate marketing vendors.
• Provide on-going reporting and optimization based on KPIs determined by client and digital planners.
• Provide SEO recommendations.
• Educate both clients and internal digital team on trends and case studies in search engine marketing.
Secondary Role:
• Proactively support and participate in agency’s Intelligent Quality Program.
• Perform other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• BS/BA degree with at least 3 years of SEM/SEO and other digital marketing experience.
• Thorough understanding of ad campaign metrics and key performance indicators including CPM, CPC, CPA, etc.
• Have advanced understanding and hands-on experience with DART search, Adwords and website measurement/analytics tools (e.g., Webtrends, Omniture, Google Analytics); Google Adword Certified, Yahoo Ambassador, Microsoft adExcellence credentials a PLUS.
• Must be detail oriented, have the ability to multi-task and possess strong organizational, communication, problem resolution, and office procedure skills – while displaying the willingness to learn and the initiative to develop media skill sets.
• Computer literacy to include proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer.
Manager of Web Marketing Analytics
• Build and manage KPI’s and regular reporting for all our sites
• Provide insight and analysis for Ad hock analysis for cross functional areas of the business
• Develop and manage the process for site testing, UI studies, and qualitative studies.
• Present results of learning’s to cross functional groups
• Manage relationships with metrics related venders
• Collect and compare our business to industry benchmarks
• Build traffic and revenue projections to align to key budget targets
Experience/Skills:
• Strong Experience with Web metrics responsibilities for a retailer or a direct marketer
• Strong experience and proficiency using Omniture, or Core Metrics Applications (Familiar with the technology used to build, tag and track web sites)
• Experience in managing third party venders
• Understanding of web marketing and use of cookies for tracking and behavioral targeting.
• Proven experience in building test designs online and advance statistical analysis
• User and customer experience driven
• Experience in managing focus groups or qualitative research
• Proficient in a standard database queries and manipulation, using statistical tools like SAS
• Power Excel/ Access user capabilities
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Build and analyze predictive trends and models.
• Minimum College degree in math, science or related field
